Station Log

The Station Log module allows Departments to track non-training, non-incident related events within the Visual Fire software. Activities that are typically tracked in manual station logs such as community education and fundraising, station tours, etc. may be tracked in the Visual Fire Station Log module.

The Station Log module is highly configurable and has the ability to be customized to collect information on many different agency-specific activities. Users can build custom Activity Codes, for managing standard information for all log events of a specific type to ensure the necessary information is automatically filled in when log events of this type are scheduled. For example, if your community education events usually run for several hours at a time users should set the activity "duration" default to hours rather than inputting new data each time. Users can also set up defaults to look-up activity addresses each time a community education event is scheduled. Setting up default values include important information and prompt the user to include important information. These default values may be updated in the Station Log entry after the record has been created.

This Wizard feature simplifies the entry process by guiding the user through a step-by-step process to make it easier to begin scheduling or record activities and the personnel associated with each activity.

Users can also configure Context Sensitive Information related to each activity type. For example, if users usually track information about preparation time, age of the audience, and type of presentation for community education events, they can add these dropdowns and their default values to this activity type. These drop-downs will be available each time this activity type is scheduled.

Once the events are scheduled, uses an add department personnel, non-department personnel, Fire Companies, outside Organizations and other resources to the event. Adding Non-Department Resources to Station Log Activities is made easy by using the Master Name Index. Easily associate these non-department people by using the Master Name Index.

Signed documents and attachments can also be associated with Station Log events. Adding Attachments, such as sign in sheets, can also be attached to Station Log record.
